SKINCARE 101 - My Routine part 3

So recently my skin has been going through a phase, and I know why, it's winter!  Cold, dry air makes my skin dry out and become super tight and it tends to crack and break open, causing bleeding sores, this is mostly on my hands. So for part 3 of sinkcare 101 were talking moisturizer!

My face is another matter, in the winter I look pale and my skin looks super dry and yucky, I hate it! The other day I had a Revelation. Why not use some type of oil at night before I go to bed to moisturize and replenish my tired looking skin, since moisturizer wasn't doing the trick, why not try something different and new.

I had bought Bio Oil ( product review Here ) when I was pregnant with my daughter and I really liked it.I thought why not try using this on my face? I usually can't stand any type of oily or greasy product on my face, it really bugs my skin. I usually use Bio Oil on the driest parts of my body, my knees and elbows stuff like that and it always makes my skin feel so much softer and looks better.

One night I was brave and did it! I took a small amount of Bio oil and applied it all over my face. If it can fix scars, uneven skintone, and act as a awesome moisturizer, then why not use it on my face? Not something I thought of before. At first I didn't really like it but after a bit I got use to it and forgot it was even on my face and fell asleep. The next morning when I woke up, I went to the bathroom to wash my face and I looked up in the mirrior and was shocked. My skin looked replenish and so much brighter. The fine lines I had were faded. It felt so much softer and not as dry, felt like whole new skin

My skin really needed some moisturizer but nothing seems to fix it's insane dryness. But Bio Oil has been a dream. The dark circles under my eye seemed to get lighter as well, I couldn't believe it. I ususally use Aveeno for my dry, cracked skin but from some reason lately it just hasn't been cutting the cake.

So now before I go to bed, on night's when my skin needs a extra little umffff, I wash my face, apply my Vichy, and then apply bio oil to my face.

I call this the skincare 101

why not try it dry skins and see if this works for you, if nothing else is working and your skin is looking tired and dry.

I wouldn't recommend this to my oily skins because it'll probably clog your pores and cause breakouts. Since I have the driest skin in the world ( I swear, it's a curse ) I don't really get to many breakouts and oil is my skins friend.

I wouldn't do this every night but maybe once a week or something like that, because it might end up clogging your pores and causing a breakout.

Tell me if this helped your dry skin?

For night whens my face just isn't really that dry and I just need some moisturizer I reach for Aveeno 24 hours moisturizing lotion and slather it on. It's very creamy and usually is the only moisturizer that works for me but since its winter my skin needs a little more TLC and thats where the Bio oil comes in handy.

Skincare 101 - My Rountine part 2

So for the second part of my skincare segment, I want to talk about what I do after the face wash, but before slathering moisturizer all over my face. I use to deal with these weird tiny bumps that would form on my forehead and I tried different products to get them to go away but not to many things worked. Then I tried Vichy Normaderm Micellar solution and it totally cleared up my skin, this solution deals with different imperfections like uneven skin tone and acne. It was made for people with sensitive skin ( that's me ) It gets into your pores and cleans without you having to rinse off. It can also be used to take your makeup off, it's ultra gentle to skin and eyes. Sometimes at night when I just want a little freshen up I'll squirt some of this on a cotton pad and then rub it all over my face, and it feels so refreshed and clean. I love this stuff and have gone through 3 bottles since I tried it.

Second item I use is anything with the name astringent on it. This is a strong cleanser that gets deep into your pores and cleans out all the nasty crud left over from makeup and dirt. I usually use this on my nose, since that's where the blackheads make their home. This stuff is pretty strong and can sting a bit when you apply it, that just means it's working. I used the clean and clear deep cleaning astringent sensitive skin and I love it. My pores look cleaner and smaller. It contains salicylic acid which works to dissolve the dirt, deep down in your pores, it's great for blackheads and can clear them right up. I don't use this every time I clean my face, usually I use it if I was wearing a lot of makeup that day and I need something stronger then face wash to get the gunk from my pores.

Stay tuned for the 3 and finally part of skincare 101

Let me know if you tried these products, did they work for you?

SKINCARE 101 - My Routine part 1

Time for some skincare updates. You all know I'm a skin junky, always looking for new products to prim and pamper myself with. I have problem areas, so I like to find skin care products that will improve these areas. My problems include uneven skintone, some small fine lines ( darn you tanning ) tired looking skin, and dryness. So its always good to go into a store looking for skin care products that aim to improve your problem areas, if you don't know what these areas are you'll end up buying a skin care product that likely won't work for you.

Step one of my nightly skincare routine is washing off my makeup. I'm not going to lie I hate doing this, it takes so long and always ends up getting in my eyes and making them itchy and dry.

I'm going to be completely honest, and I know this is a big no no, but to take my makeup off I just use a bar of soap. Bad girl I know! I am interested in purchasing Bioderma makeup remover, because I've heard rave reviews about this makeup remover, but until then, I'll have to keep using the good ole, bar of soap.

After I get all the makeup off which takes me like 10 minutes because the soap doesn't really do an AMAZING job, I then take a face wash. OK so here's another "bad girl" moment. I have the crappiest face wash in the world. I really need to update my makeup remover and face wash, any recommendations ladies? For face wash I use Clean and Clear morning burst........ I know, I know, so embrassing. I use this to clean my face, but it doesn't really do a good job and I can't wait to get rid of it.

I also like to use baby shampoo to wash my face, it's super gentle and doesn't hurt if you get it in your eyes. I really only use this when I'm really lazy and don't want to take the time to properly take my makeup off and clean my face. This is another product that works well for washing your face, but sucks for trying to take your makeup off.

Well gals that's part 1 of my skincare routine, stay tuned for part 2 and I'll update you on the rest.

MY SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Before you apply your makeup, and when your taking your makeup off, you should always clean your face. If you don't properly clean your face, dirt and left over makeup build up and clog your pores, leaving you with breakouts that are hard to cover and ruin your day.

So, I'm going to give you my skin care routine, I use my routine in the morning before any makeup touches my face and before I go to bed, I can't stand waking up with makeup all over my face and my eyelashes sticking together.

 1-
First thing I do is grab a clean wash cloth and let the water run fairly hot, but really warm water works too, if you don't like hot water on your face, some people don't. Once it's good and hot soak your wash cloth in it and cover your face with it, the steam from the hot water on your wash cloth with open your pores, so you can clean all the dirt out of them.

Once your pores are open it's time to apply the face wash, make sure it's something that's meant for your face, we don't want it to be harsh on our delicate skin.

Rub it into your face and then re soak the wash cloth and squeeze all the water out and rub your whole face with the cloth, keep re soaking it and scrubbing until all the soap is off, then splash a bit of water on your face to wipe away the remaining soap.

2
- Now that you've done that it's time to apply a little Vichy, I love Vichy because their face products always work and are really gentle on your skin. The brand above comes in different formulas, I like the Normaderm face cleanser, and the night cream. I take a cotton pad and squirt some Vichy on it, then rub my whole face with it. It's smells like nature and always reminds me of camping and going to the lake , I love it.

3- Once the Vichy has dried it's time to moisturize your skin, now I have really dry skin so I am always looking for a good moisturizer that will keep my face moisturizer and healthy. The one I currently use and love right now is Aveeno, I use the cooling menthol kind and it really keeps my skin nice and moist, but when I wash my face to put my makeup on I use Keri moisturizer because after you put it on and it drys it gives your skin a nice dewy glow and I love that look.

well ladies that's all I have for you today hope you enjoyed my Skin care routine, and don't  be shy, share yours with me I love to hear about it, email or comment.

love you
