PRODUCT REVIEW - Vichy Nutriextra Creme

Winter has really been beating my skin up, so I went on the hunt for a more expensive moisturizer that would sink deep into the layers of skin. I wanted something that worked well on my face as well as my body. After looking through a bunch of different moisturizers I decided on Vichy Nutriextra Creme.

My sister uses this stuff and she loves it, she also has extremely dry skin. It came in a bonus pack including a lip balm and it was under my budget of $30 it cost me $24.99. I have always liked Vichy products and this creme said it works on dry to extremely dry skin. So I gave it a whirl. The packaging is super modern and colorful, has a very fresh young feel to it, and is super attractive sitting on the shelf

This lotion is super super thick, probably the thickest lotion I've ever applied to my delicate skin, just a small bit on your finger can cover a large area. It has a mild floral scent I could do without but something that didn't bug me to much. The creme is so thick and creamy, it gets deep down into the layers of skin. I wouldn't say it absorbs quickly, but instead of feeling wet and greasy like alot of lotions, it feels more soft and creamy when sitting on your skin. I noticed that the eczema on my elbows was so much better after only using this cream once. I also notice my skin seem alot less dry, which made this dry skinned girl one happy little lady.

Pros and Cons

Creamy, thick texture. Doesn't sink right in but does leave your skin feel smooth and less dry. Has a floral scent that I didn't love but it wasn't something that bug me to much. The price is a bit on the steep side.

My Conclusion

Super thick creme, perfect for extremely dry skin. I love this cream and would re-purchase

PRODUCT REVIEW - Neostrata Micellar Cleanser

Whenever I'm at Shoppers buying a product, I always ask the beauty consultants for samples, because I have found loves of different products through samples. Well when I asked her for samples the other day, she really loaded me up with them, and I trotted out with a huge smile on my face.

One of these samples was Neostrata Micellar Cleanser, micellar water has been a huge thing this year as awesome makeup removers. I tried this out and really liked it. It didn't just smudge my makeup all over my face, creating a even bigger mess for my to clean up, in one swipe it took most of my eye makeup off and almost all of my foundation off. Two swipes took my mascara totally off, took me like 1 minute. It's a very light formula, not oily or yucky at all. Although the price of the 200ml is $21 CND I really like this and would buy it.

You don't have to rinse it off, you just dab some on a cotton pad and swipe over your makeup. So easy, especially for those nights when your wearing a pound of makeup, its 1 am and you know you should wash your makeup off, but it's such a boring, long task, that you end up just sleeping in it, only to wake up the next morning with a breakout and swollen eyes. Neostrata Micellar Cleanser makes taking your makeup off a breeze.

Pros and Cons

The price is on the steep side, but to be honest I would pay for this stuff because it's such a breeze to use. I doesn't leave any residue left on your face after you use it to take your makeup off, you don't have to rinse this off, it's great for sensitive skin, and it takes even the most stay put makeup off, with just a couple swipes.

My Conclusion

I love this product, and would repurchase it, even tho its a bit more then bioderma, I really like it

PRODUCT REVIEW - Avene Soothing Eye Contour Cream

Avene is a pretty good skincare brand, I own their Thermal water and have bought different creams from them before. When the skin around my eyes started to get scaly patches, I went looking for an eye cream that was strictly moisturizing and not anti-ageing. Do you know how hard that is? Regular moisturizers don't work and end up getting into my eyes and bugging them, so I had to find something that was safe for around my eyes, that's made for sensitive skin, and something that had no anti-aging properties in it........very very hard thing to find.

After asking the beauty consultant at shoppers, she pointed out this new eye cream from Avene that was selling out. So I bought it. The actually cream, once taken out of the box surprised me at all small it was, for the price I paid, I was shocked. It did feel soothing when dabbed around my eye area. It feels just like moisturizer and has no scent. To be honest it felt just like a moisturizing cream, so I wasn't expecting anything other then my dry skin to start to clear up. The next day I woke up and my eyes were so swollen I had to go to the doctors, he said I was having a very bad allergic reaction, along with bad eczema on my eyes.

So I ended up needing a prescription eye cream to clear my eye problem up. I'm taking Avene cream back since I don't really need it now, but I wouldn't say it's a bad cream, it just wasn't for me. It clearly just moisturizes, which was what I was looking for, so it didn't fail in that aera. I was having problems with my eyes before using this cream, so I'm not going to blame it on cream because I'm positive it wasn't this cream and it's not fair to judge this product since my eye were already swollen and red from some other product I had used.

Pros and Cons

The price is pretty steep for a tiny tube of this stuff. Safe for eyes, scentless, feels just like a moisturizing cream, soothing on eyes.

My Conclusion

I little bit too expensive for a eye cream.

PRODUCT REVIEW - Maybelline Color Tattoo 24H, Too Cool

I really like the color tattoo overshadows from maybelline, they're creamy and thick and have built in primer so your eyeshadow never creases. Their perfect to use as bases for your eyeshadow and that's why I decided to purchase, Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool. Built in primer insures it'll never crease and last for hours, also applying a white eyeshadow as a base for your eyeshadow, makes the color pop, seeming more vibrant and looking overall better.

I bought this strictly to use a base eyeshadow, its very creamy and pigmented, I own bad the bronze as well and I find that Too Cool isn't as pigmented and thick as bad to the bronze. Since I'm just using it for alot just a base for my eyeshadow, this didn't really bug me. Its still a great eyeshadow, and I adore all the colors in this collection. I bought this from wal-mart for $9.95 which was on sale from regular price of $10.95.

This eyeshadow never creases and look so pretty on, it's fairly easy to apply and blend, I use my finger since that seems to pick up more product then a actually brush. If you want to read my Bad to the Bronze review click Here. If you want to know how to use this as a eyeshadow base for a pop of color click Here

Pros and Cons

Is a bit expensive for one eyeshadow, but since it has built in primer, I think the price is perfect. Very creamy and thick, has great pigmentation, although I noticed that Too Cool wasn't as pigmented as the other colors. Works great as a primer and base for eyeshadow, and overall eyeshadow

My Conclusion

Great eyeshadow with built in primer.

PRODUCT REVIEW - Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

After reading a ton of reviews on, Rimmels Stay Matte pressed powder, I decided to purchase it. I've been looking for a cheap but good translucent powder for awhile and I think I hit the jackpot with this baby. At $5.97 you can't lose.

Rimmels Stay Matte powder gives long lasting flawless coverage, well controlling shine. I purchased 005 Silky beige, which gives a barely there dusting matte finish. It really completes my foundation, giving me a beautiful matte, airbrushed look. Doesn't look cakey, even if you build it up a bit. I didn't really notice any sort of smell, if you really put it close to your nose and take a sniff, there's a very slight baby powder smell, but nothing super noticeable. It really helps to control any shine you get, I usually get a wee bit on my forehead, and this cleared it up right away.

The packaging was pretty normal, a little on the cheap side, but it wasn't something that bothered me. Instead of the top clipping open like regular powder, you just pop the top off to use it.

Pros and Cons

Translucent powder, barely there smell, gives a really nice matte finish and controls shine really well. It's not cakey even if built up and feels light, and breathable on skin. Nothing bad to say about this product.

My Conclusion

Love this powder, it gives the most beautiful matte finish.

PRODUCT REVIEW - Mary Kay Satin Lips 2 step system

So this time of year takes a extreme toll on my skin as well as my poor lips, their chapped and cracked and I can't wear lipstick because it makes the cracks look even worse, after talking with Takiya Moore, my Mary Kay consultant, I received the satin lips 2 step treatment*, hoping that this would do the trick, so I can finally have those beautiful pouty perfect lips

The first step is the satin lips lip mask*, you leave this on for 1-2 minutes after which you wipe it off and it exfoliates lips to remove all the dried, dead skin. It's a pasty white color and has a gluey, tacky texture, and a plastic type smell and taste. After you wipe it off  your lips feel smooth and silky. I have bought lip exfoliaters before but none work as good as this one.

The second step is the satin lips, lip balm* is a glossy chap stick type product. It sinks right into your lips to quickly take away the dryness and instantly made my lips feel better. I thought it wasn't working at first because it sunk into my lips so fast, so I applied another coat, but then I realized it's not like a chap stick that sits on your lips, this sinks right in and takes care of dryness fast, so theres no need to keep applying it. It didn't have a smell or taste which made me super happy. Love this lip balm, it tingles as it's sinking in, leaving me with ultra, smooth, silky soft, lips and I thought there was no hope for my poor chapped lips.

Pros and Cons
Feels amazing on lips and contains no nasty taste or smell. The exfoliater tastes a bit nasty and I don't enjoy the smell either but it takes care of all the dead, dry skin on my lips, that the smell and taste really doesnt matter, your wiping it off after a minute anyway. If you lips are going through winter lip dryness this is seriously a cure.

My Conclusion
Great little lip system, exceeded my expectations and made my lips so soft and silky smooth, bring on the lipstick!

PRODUCT REVIEW - Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Charm

I just needed to have this balm stain, I've been hearing so much about how great this product was from other beauty bloggers, and featuring it on my wishlist a couple times didn't help. I went grocery shopping yesterday and after begging my boyfriend to let me purchase a makeup product, I excitably skipped down to the makeup section, knowing this kissable balm stain was what I was looking for. After asking my boyfriend which color he preferred, I ended up getting Charm, a lovely soft nude pink.

I really liked it, although I wish it was a bit more pigmented but when paired with a light lipstick, I'm sure it would be the perfect combo. Its very creamy and moisturizing, it isn't sticky, which I was super happy about because, I was a bit worried it might be sticky and tacky. The smell surprised me, I thought it was scentless but it smelt like mint and I was sitting at my dinning room table sniffing it like a freak for 5 minutes. I find these very low maintenance and super portable and easy to use. The packaging was nice to, it's shaped like a jumbo pencil but you don't have to sharpen it to get more product, you just twist the bottom up like a chap stick and up it comes. It also didn't last forever like a stain, I had to reapply it after an hour or two.

Pros and Cons

Great lip product, very creamy and smooth, doesn't dry lips out and feels moisturizing. Although it doesn't last as long as a stain and isn't very pigmented, the smell and taste was a nice surprise. It's very low maintenance and portable.

My Conclusion
Great lip product and I look forward to buying more shades

PRODUCT REVIEW - Lass Naturals Almond and Saffron Moisturizing Lotion

The other Lass Natural product I was given an opportunity to try was the - Lass Naturals Almond and Saffron moisturizing lotion. Lass Natural products by Lypsso.com – a beauty network where you can search, compare and review natural and organic beauty products & hair and beauty salons worldwide.

I love this lotion.  First off it smells so good, like almonds and butter, mhmmm so yummy, it has a hint of rose water but not to much and I think that’s why it smells so good, It also made my skin feel smoother, and moisturized my super dry hands. It’s made to nourish and protect skin without leaving your skin feeling oily.
I loved the lotion probably more than the clay facial. It's not a heavy lotion but a very light smooth lotion, it’s not runny either and absorbs right into skin, unlike some moisturizers that sit on your skin and make it feel oily.  Enriched with oils and active natural ingredients, makes this moisturizer an easy choice. This product is all natural, Eco friendly and animal cruelty free.

The packaging for this product is pretty much the same as the Lass Naturals – Glowing Facial. It comes in an easy to use squeeze tube and displays all natural ingredients, which the product contains on the front. The packaging is very simple but not boring. I love the design and found it to be a perfect fit for the product.

Pros and Cons

Loved the smell of this lotion it took me to heaven and back. I was thrilled that it cured my dry skin and wasn’t oily and heavy. I usually love heavy lotions because they tend to absorb better but this lotion did that without being heavy. I really don’t have any cons about this product, I really loved it.

My Conclusion

Loved this lotion and wish there were more naturally lotions out there like this one.
